Amb. Dr. Stephen Kojo Sackey is a young Ghanaian professional with decades of undiluted experience in International Diplomacy, Youth Empowerment, and Humanitarian service.
He serves as a UN Eminent Goodwill Peace Ambassador, Africa Development Focal Point, and Youth Envoy Extraordinaire to the United Nations, with multiple roles as an ECOSOC-accredited representative with the International Association of World Peace Advocates and the New Future Foundation. He is appointed Project Peace light Incorporated (USA) as Premier Global Peace Ambassador/ Country Director-Ghana chapter who has immersed himself in global peace advocacy which includes recent past Ghana 2024 successful general
elections peace campaign. As appointed Assistant Commissioner for Social Development responsible for Africa region in humanitarian aid, health emergency and crisis responses among others having successfully serve under the Commissioner of United Nations International Mission as a Special Advisor on South -Asia co-operation within the United Nations system. As a Global Humanitarian and Social Change Agent he has led to help vulnerable and under privileged communities home and abroad.
Dr. Sackey is a diplomatic correspondent and sustainable editor for the Central Press Newspaper Agency in Ghana. His international press duties include covering the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly but not limited to UN78TH closing press briefing section with UN Deputy Secretary- General; H.E Amina J. Mohammed at the United Nations Head Quarters, New York. He equally engaged H.E Shirley Ayorkor-Botchwey who is the current serving Commonwealth Secretary -General and Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana during the UN78TH press briefing session regarding civil society organization strong collaboration within the UN system in Ghana and beyond.
As an International Conference Speaker, Moderator, and Adjunct Lecturer, he has participated in high-level political forums and side events organized by the United Nations, UN Status of the Women Commission and affiliated organizations. He equally contributed immensely to the maiden UN/CSO organized conference in Nairobi- Kenya 2024 as Peacebuilding Coalition Member under the Department of Global Communication of the UN.
In recognition of his dedication to community service, he was awarded the prestigious United States Presidential Volunteer Service and Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024. He has received numerous awards for his humanitarian efforts under the auspices of the MISS CARRICOM International organization, accredited by the UN but not limited to WHO IS WHO PLATINUM LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD , DANNY GLOVER POWER OF DREAM AWARD AND UNSDG EXCELLENCE AWARD 2023 among others with Africa Hope Committee. His selfless commitment to pan-africanism, social cohesion and volunteerism in the midst of challenges has earned him young exceptional pan-african leader award 2024 by Kenya youth bridge and Kenya school of government within the continent of Africa as a testament of his impeccable track record.
Dr. Sackey is the CEO and Co-founder of Creative Afrigiants Solutions and the United Nations Youth Association of Ghana respectively, affiliated with the World Federation of United Nations Associations who serves as Advisory Board Member and Director of International Relations.
His in-depth knowledge in Conflict Mediation, and Peace Building and Resolution among other things supported the initial formulation of Post- Sustainable Development Goals (SDG17) during plenary session held at Rio Brazil 2012 under the auspices of World Federation of the United Nations Associations (WFUNA) as Head of Youth Delegation - Ghana chapter.
Furthermore, as head of Ghana delegation of the association at the 42nd plenary held in Georgia- Tbilisi he played a pivotal role at both committee and main resolution sessions of the plenary regarding strong and better UN systems.
He advocates for Youth Empowerment and Multilateralism and serves on several Boards and Committees which includes Unique Colleges of Health Sciences and Technology kwali -Abuja, Nigeria, AWIBA Network and UNYA-GHANA among others.
His expertise includes International Human Rights and Humanitarian law, Conflict Prevention, Mediation and Resolution, Mathematics, Research, Statistics, Customer Care, IT, Investment banking, and Alternative Medicine Manufacturing.
His excellent academic background in both local and International Universities have culminated into his selfless performance in both public service and the private sector such as Ghana Water Company-Aqua Vitens, Ministry of health-TMPC and Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School among others. He holds bachelor’s in Education Mathematics & Statistics from the University of Cape Coast after a successful completion of secondary education from Adisadel College, an Executive Masters Certification in Adaptive & Strategic leadership by American University of Peace and Governance,Texas USA .
His research works focus on Mental Health and their Rights as a potential holder in Masters in Philosophy: Human Rights, Conflicts and Peace Studies at the University of Winneba. As a distinguished chartered fellow of peace, he holds Honorary Doctorate Corsa in Leadership, Diplomacy & International Relations with AUPG & Highstone University of California, USA in recognition of community service, exceptional human relation, negotiation and diplomatic skills which spans decades of theory to practice in humanitarian enterprise. His hobbies include reading, sight seeing and music.
Due to his strong family ties with the people of Ghana, excellent respect and patronage of cultural heritage, the Atuna Tradutional Authourity in the Bono Region of Ghana conferred on him a development chief to promote and foster Peace and Development in the region at durbar when he was invited as keynote speaker, 2024.
Additionally, he equally serves as a trade and commence ambassador for Federation of Aboriginal Nations of America to provide the platform for inter trade in the Africa and that of America. His strong skills in negotiation and resilience have earned him another role as Africa Envoy for International Ambassadors of Peace Network to promote and foster peace in the region in our quest to have economic development.
Mr. Sackey is part of the Board of Trustees of Aiding Women In Business Africa Network (AWIBA Network). The organization is dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting their economic development across Africa. His exceptional leadership skills, business acumen, and passion for women’s empowerment make him an ideal candidate for the Board. As a Trustee, he play a critical role in providing strategic guidance and oversight supporting fundraising and resource development efforts, advocating for women’s economic empowerment in Africa and ensuring effective governance.
He has participated in many International Conferences to build capacity and foster relation including the recent past summit: African Self-Reliance Influencing Development where the keynote address was delivered by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama (The President of the Republic of Ghana) at the Heads of States and Government Breakfast Dialogue held at the African Union Commission Head Quarters in Addis Ababa – Ethiopia.
